Can’t Wait Wednesday

This meme is hosted at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally, they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here. This week I am featuring And Now She’s Gone By Rachel Howzell Hall.

And Now She’s Gone Summary

Isabel Lincoln is gone.

But is she missing?

It’s up to Grayson Sykes to find her. Although she is reluctant to track down a woman who may not want to be found, Gray’s search for Isabel Lincoln becomes more complicated and dangerous with every new revelation about the woman’s secrets and the truth she’s hidden from her friends and family.

Featuring two complicated women in a dangerous cat and mouse game, And Now She’s Gone explores the nature of secrets — and how violence and fear can lead you to abandon everything in order to survive.

I have been making an effort to find more Black Authors in this genre, which is often dominated by white authors, and characters. Cut To The Bone by Ellison Cooper is a great novel with a Black, Female FBI Agent as the Main Character (along with other diverse representation). But it isn’t nearly enough. Please let me know other’s coming out soon!

What books are you looking forward to? What do you think of And Now She’s Gone sound to you?
