Stranger Things Book Tag Fun- No Spoilers!

I have been a Stranger Things fan since Season One and continue to be after this season ended. Yesterday I saw this tag on Another Book In the Wall. She had found it on  Jenna’s blog. It was created by BookTuber, Sarah Elise.

There aren’t any spoilers in this post other than information from the first season synopsis/trailer. There are  three questions with repeat winners but the rest are (hopefully) surprise winners, I swear!

Stranger Things

Epic Intro

The opening sequence of Stranger Things is amazing and really grabs your attention
Name a book that grabbed your attention from the 1st page

I know this isn’t “technically” the first page but I will always say that to me, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo has the best opening of any book. It was my first, First line Friday!

Kaz Brekker didn’t need a reason. Those were the words whispered on the streets of Ketterdam, in the taverns and coffeehouses, in the dark and bleeding alleys of the pleasure district known as the Barrel. The boy they called Dirtyhands didn’t need a reason any more than he needed permission—to break a leg, sever an alliance, or change a man’s fortunes with the turn of a card.
Of course they were wrong, Inej considered as she crossed the bridge over the black waters of the Beurskanal to the deserted main square that fronted the Exchange. Every act of violence was deliberate, and every favor came with enough strings attached to stage a puppet show. Kaz always had his reasons. Inej could just never be sure they were good ones. Especially tonight.

Dungeons and Dragons

Name a fantasy world you would like to experience yourself

For starters, how do you not want to be on the high seas, riding the Quincense?  Then there is the Roman inspired Celendrial which was painted just as briantally! I cannot wait to return to both lands, as well as the many different landscapes in between when the second installment of this series is revealed. Here is my review of Dark Shores.

Squad Goals

When Eleven met Mike, Dustin and Lucas it was a *mostly* perfect team. Name your favorite bookish group of friends.

Not to be repetitive but there just isn’t any other way I can go with this answer. There isn’t a better squad to join but the Dregs + Wylan + Matthias.

Jesper knocked his head against the hull and cast his eyes heavenward.
“Fine. But if Pekka Rollins Kills us all, I’m going to get Wylan’s ghost to teach my ghost how to play the flute just so that I can annoy the hell out of your ghost.”
Brekkar’s lips quirked. “I’ll just hire Matthias’ ghost to kick your ghost’s ass.”
“My ghost won’t associate with your ghost,” Matthias said primly, and then wondered if the sea air was rotting his brain.

ABC’s & Christmans Lights

Joyce Byers goes mad with grief after Will goes missing. Name you favorite unhinged character.

Oi! This is really begging for repetition. Am I not supposed to say Kaz? My license plate says Kaz… How am I not? I have to. Seriously. If I hold it in, it’ll just build pressure and explode out an orifice. I’ll make it end after this. I promise.

“You’re a blackmailer- “                                                                                                                                            “I broker information.”                                                                                                                                              “A con artist- ”                                                                                                                                                                “I create opportunity.”                                                                                                                                                “A bawd and a murderer-”                                                                                                                                        “I don’t run whores, and I kill for a cause.”                                                                                                    “And what cause is that?”                                                                                                                                “Same as yours, merch. Profit.”

The Upside Down

Name a book that was the opposite of what you expected.

This was an easy one! Nocturna!  Mind you, once I figured out what it was about? I was all in! You can see my review here! I had no idea what I was in for with this gem. I thought I would like it, don’t get me wrong. I was coming off two disappointments, too. It was far darker, grittier and more intriguing than expected.  Nocturna Review Link Here.

Mad Scientists

Dr. Brenner likes to get freaky with humanity. Name the freakiest Dystopian government you can think of.

Another easy pick. Movie or TV show is their anything freakier than Gilead? I just don’t think there is anything out there more grimy. If you aren’t uncomfortable watching or reading the Handmaid’s Tale than you are just doing something wrong. I watching it faithfully (bad choice of words there) and to say I enjoy watching it would be even worse wording. Gilead is just evil. Maybe because it seems all too possible. Either way, that’s the winner.

Demogorgon

Name a scary bookish creature that you wouldn’t want to come through your walls

For the record I don’t want anything coming out of my walls unless it is <insert name here> with a check from the Publisher’s Clearing House. Having said that… I’m going with the Aliens in Sanctuary/Containment because.. especially Containment because there’s something you don’t need evolving and adapting… egatz! Reviews are linked.

Cliffhanger Ending

Name a book that left you wanting more.

Lord. There are quite a few on this list. I already have Dark Shores above. Nocturna is on here. Ok I’m going to give two because I have to and they are coming out soon. There are more… many more but I’m going to go with these two. Mirage (Sequel: Court of Lions) and For a Muse of Fire (Sequel: Kingdom for a Stage). The reviews are linked. Be kind! They are way back when- In fact Mirage was possibly my first review and I’m frightened to go back and look!
AND I DON’T EVEN USE THE STAR SYSTEM ANYMORE. I KNOW THE UPDATE WASN’T ENOUGH AND NO MATTER WHAT THE REVIEW SAYS I REALLY LOVED MIRAGE- OK! I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING <whimpers and cries>.

Ok those are my choices! What are your choices? What did you think of my choices? I didn’t tag anyone because I wasn’t  sure who are the Stranger Fan fanatics! I would love to know who takes this on!
