First Lines Friday is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
Psst I found this at Becky’s Book Blog. Please go check her out!
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be a current read, ARC, TBR, favorite read, close your eyes and pick a book) and open to the first page.
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first.
- Finally… reveal the book!
Shh, I know it is Thursday but I really want it to be Friday, Don’t you? Because. Avengers Endgame! So if we pretend and snap our fingers…. NO WAIT…. I WAS KIDDING… OH NO…
Oh well… before I dust off…
Here’s this weeks first line/lines of the book….
I was eight years old when my mother tried to kill me.

This first line is intriging ! I would most definately read that.. somehow it feels familiar in a way XD Though I never read that one, or even heard of it before – I don’t think.
